The protein encoded by this gene mediates transcriptional control by interaction with the activation function 2 (AF2) region of several nuclear receptors, including the estrogen, retinoic acid, and vitamin D3 receptors. The protein localizes to nuclear bodies and is thought to associate with chromatin and heterochromatin-associated factors. The protein is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains - a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2 - and a coiled-coil region. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Symbol : TRIM24
Gene Name : Tripartite motif containing 24
Chromosome : CHR 7: 138,460,333-138,585,587
Locus : 7q33-q34
This gene encodes a member of the unc-51-like serine/threonine kinase (STK) family. Members of this protein family play a role in neuronal growth and endocytosis. The encoded protein is likely involved in neurite branching, neurite elongation and neuronal migration. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) indicate an association of variations in this gene with blood pressure and hypertension. Sequence variations in this gene may also be be associated with psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Pseudogenes associated with this gene have been identified and are located on chromosome 15. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
Gene Symbol : ULK4
Gene Name : Unc-51 like kinase 4
Chromosome : CHR 3: 419,630,19-412,465,98
Locus : 3p22.1
