This gene encodes a protein with an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a C-terminal coiled-coil region. The protein interacts with trio, which is involved with neural tissue development and controlling actin cytoskeleton organization, cell motility and cell growth. The protein also associates with F-actin and stabilizes F-actin structures. Mutations in this gene have been associated with a form of autosomal recessive nonsyndromic deafness. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that would encode different isoforms have been found for this gene, however some transcripts may be subject to nonsense-mediated decay (NMD). Gene Symbol : TRIOBP
Gene Name : TRIO and F-actin binding protein
Chromosome : CHR 22: 376,969,87-377,765,55
Locus : 22q13.1
CDC42 is a member of the Rho GTPase family that regulates multiple cellular activities, including actin polymerization. The protein encoded by this gene is a CDC42 binding protein that mediates actin cytoskeleton reorganization at the plasma membrane. This protein is secreted and is primarily found in bone marrow. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Symbol : CDC42EP1
Gene Name : CDC42 effector protein 1
Chromosome : CHR 22: 375,597,77-375,694,04
Locus : 22q13.1
