This cell-cycle-regulated gene encodes a protein that mediates leucine-rich nuclear export signal (NES)-dependent protein transport. The protein specifically inhibits the nuclear export of Rev and U snRNAs. It is involved in the control of several cellular processes by controlling the localization of cyclin B, MPAK, and MAPKAP kinase 2. This protein also regulates NFAT and AP-1. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]
Gene Symbol : XPO1
Gene Name : Exportin 1
Chromosome : CHR 2: 615,385,21-614,779,33
Locus : 2p15
This gene encodes a HORMA domain-containing protein. HORMA domains are involved in chromatin binding and play a role in cell cycle regulation. The encoded protein may play a role in meiosis, and expression of this gene is a potential marker for cancer. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 6. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Gene Symbol : HORMAD1
Gene Name : HORMA domain containing 1
Chromosome : CHR 1: 150,720,909-150,698,058
Locus : 1q21.3
