The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for the xenotropic and polytropic classes of murine leukemia viruses. The encoded protein is involved in phosphate homeostasis by mediating phosphate export from the cell. Defects in this gene have been associated with idiopathic basal ganglia calcification-6. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2016]
Gene Symbol : XPR1
Gene Name : Xenotropic and polytropic retrovirus receptor 1
Chromosome : CHR 1: 180,632,009-180,890,278
Locus : 1q25.3
This gene encodes a member of a large protein family which contains the LIM domain, a unique cysteine-rich zinc-binding domain. The encoded protein is a transcription factor involved in the control of differentiation and development of the pituitary gland. Mutations in this gene cause combined pituitary hormone deficiency 4. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Gene Symbol : LHX4
Gene Name : LIM homeobox 4
Chromosome : CHR 1: 180,228,371-180,278,981
Locus : 1q25.2
