YY1 is a ubiquitously distributed transcription factor belonging to the GLI-Kruppel class of zinc finger proteins. The protein is involved in repressing and activating a diverse number of promoters. YY1 may direct histone deacetylases and histone acetyltransferases to a promoter in order to activate or repress the promoter, thus implicating histone modification in the function of YY1. Gene Symbol : YY1
Gene Name : YY1 transcription factor
Chromosome : CHR 14: 100,238,764-100,279,033
Locus : 14q32.2
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transcription cyclin family. These cyclins may regulate transcription through their association with and activation of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) that phosphorylate the C-terminal domain (CTD) of the large subunit of RNA polymerase II. This gene product may play a dual role in regulating CDK and RNA polymerase II activities. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Symbol : CCNK
Gene Name : Cyclin K
Chromosome : CHR 14: 994,814,01-995,115,14
Locus : 14q32.2
