This gene encodes an orphan nuclear receptor which is a member of the nuclear hormone receptor family. Its expression pattern suggests that it may be involved in neurogenesis and germ cell development. The protein can homodimerize and bind DNA, but in vivo targets have not been identified. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]
Gene Symbol : NR6A1
Gene Name : Nuclear receptor subfamily 6 group A member 1
Chromosome : CHR 9: 124,771,309-124,517,274
Locus : 9q33.3
This gene encodes a protein which contains a FYVE zinc finger binding domain. The presence of this domain is thought to target these proteins to membrane lipids through interaction with phospholipids in the membrane. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia-15. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
Gene Symbol : ZFYVE26
Gene Name : Zinc finger FYVE-type containing 26
Chromosome : CHR 14: 678,172,92-677,288,91
Locus : 14q24.1
