This gene encodes a member of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins that contain two pore-forming P domains. The encoded protein is an outwardly rectifying channel that is sensitive to changes in extracellular pH and is inhibited by extracellular acidification. Also referred to as an acid-sensitive potassium channel, it is activated by the anesthetics halothane and isoflurane. Although three transcripts are detected in northern blots, there is currently no sequence available to confirm transcript variants for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]
Gene Symbol : KCNK3
Gene Name : Potassium two pore domain channel subfamily K member 3
Chromosome : CHR 2: 266,927,12-267,334,19
Locus : 2p23.3
This gene encodes a protein containing four putative zinc finger motifs. Zinc finger motifs may bind to proteins or nucleic acids. Zinc finger-containing proteins are involved in a variety of processes, including regulation of transcription. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2012]
Gene Symbol : ZNF512
Gene Name : Zinc finger protein 512
Chromosome : CHR 2: 275,829,68-276,232,14
Locus : 2p23.3
