This gene encodes a trafficking membrane protein which transports proteins among the medial- and trans-Golgi compartments. Due to its chromosomal location and trafficking function, this gene may be involved in familial essential hypertension. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]
Gene Symbol : GOSR2
Gene Name : Golgi SNAP receptor complex member 2
Chromosome : CHR 17: 469,230,85-469,755,18
Locus : 17q21.32
The protein encoded by this gene was identified on the basis of its interaction with MAP3K12/DLK, a protein kinase known to be involved in the induction of cell apoptosis. This gene product contains a leucine zipper, which is a characteristic motif of transcription factors, and was shown to exhibit strong transactivation activity when fused to Gal4 DNA binding domain. Overexpression of this gene interfered with MAP3K12 induced apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Symbol : AATF
Gene Name : Apoptosis antagonizing transcription factor
Chromosome : CHR 17: 369,488,74-370,568,70
Locus : 17q12
