The protein encoded by this gene is a leucine-rich repeat-containing receptor (LGR) and member of the G protein-coupled, 7-transmembrane receptor (GPCR) superfamily. The encoded protein is a receptor for R-spondins and is involved in the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. This protein plays a role in the formation and maintenance of adult intestinal stem cells during postembryonic development. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
Gene Symbol : LGR5
Gene Name : Leucine rich repeat containing G protein-coupled receptor 5
Chromosome : CHR 12: 714,397,69-715,863,09
Locus : 12q21.1
ADP-ribosylation factors (ARFs) play an important role in intracellular vesicular trafficking. The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the activation of ARFs by accelerating replacement of bound GDP with GTP. It contains a Sec7 domain, which may be responsible for guanine-nucleotide exchange activity and also brefeldin A inhibition. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Symbol : ARFGEF1
Gene Name : ADP ribosylation factor guanine nucleotide exchange factor 1
Chromosome : CHR 8: 673,439,26-671,742,97
Locus : 8q13.2
