This gene encodes a member of the steroid receptor superfamily. The encoded protein mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive events associated with the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. This gene uses two distinct promotors and translation start sites in the first exon to produce several transcript variants, both protein coding and non-protein coding. Two of the isoforms (A and B) are identical except for an additional 165 amino acids found in the N-terminus of isoform B and mediate their own response genes and physiologic effects with little overlap. Gene Symbol : PGR
Gene Name : Progesterone receptor
Chromosome : CHR 11: 101,130,680-101,029,623
Locus : 11q22.1
This gene encodes a Rho GTPase-activating protein (RhoGAP), and member of the GRAF or BAR-PH family of proteins. Expression of this gene is enriched in vascular smooth muscle cells and the encoded protein inhibits RhoA activity to regulate vascular tone and control blood pressure. A mutation in the first intron of this gene modulates its expression and is associated with reduced blood pressure in human patients with borderline hypertension. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]
Gene Symbol : ARHGAP42
Gene Name : Rho GTPase activating protein 42
Chromosome : CHR 11: 100,687,675-100,993,940
Locus : 11q22.1
