This gene encodes a member of the family of adenylate cyclases, which are membrane-associated enzymes that catalyze the formation of the secondary messenger cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). This enzyme is insensitive to Ca(2+)/calmodulin, and is stimulated by the G protein beta and gamma subunit complex. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Symbol : ADCY2
Gene Name : Adenylate cyclase 2
Chromosome : CHR 5: 739,622,9-783,008,0
Locus : 5p15.31
This gene encodes an ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) GTPase-activating protein. The GTPase-activating activity is stimulated by phosphatidylinositol 4,5-biphosphate (PIP2), and is greater towards ARF1 and ARF5, and lesser for ARF6. This gene maybe involved in regulation of membrane trafficking and cytoskeleton remodeling. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Symbol : ASAP1
Gene Name : ArfGAP with SH3 domain, ankyrin repeat and PH domain 1
Chromosome : CHR 8: 130,443,847-130,052,103
Locus : 8q24.21-q24.22
